Red Sea industrial port with reefs offshore
Yanbu is a Red Sea port city on Saudi Arabia's west coast, with Yanbu Airport and major commercial and industrial harbours. Its offshore reefs are known for diving.
Long a supply port on the pilgrimage and trade routes to Medina, Yanbu was expanded from the 1970s into a large planned industrial city. T. E. Lawrence operated from the area during the World War I Arab Revolt.
