Yanbu is a city on Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast, with an airport and major commercial and industrial ports. Its offshore reefs are known among divers, and it serves as an industrial counterpart to the Gulf coast.
Yanbu was historically a supply port for the pilgrimage routes and inland Medina, and it featured in the Arab Revolt during WWI. In modern times it became a major petrochemical and shipping hub.
