A small coastal town on the Makran coast of Balochistan, set beneath a prominent flat-topped headland. Ormara has a fishing harbour and a naval base. The beaches are largely undeveloped.
Ormara is named in classical accounts as a stop of Nearchus during Alexander's return voyage. It has been a Makran fishing settlement for centuries.
