Neves, São Tomé and Príncipe

Fishing and port town on São Tomé's coast

Neves is a small coastal town on the northwest of São Tomé island with a working port and fuel depot. It sits beneath the forested slopes of the island's volcanic interior.

The settlement grew around fishing and later the island's oil-storage facilities. It has long been a local landing point for boats along the coast.
