Mazatlán is a Pacific resort and port city in Sinaloa, with General Rafael Buelna International Airport (MZT), a cruise and cargo port, and one of the longest malecóns in the world. Its restored old town anchors its cultural life.
Settled in the 19th century by German immigrants among others, Mazatlán grew into a major Pacific port and, later, a resort. Its Centro Histórico dates largely from that 19th-century boom.
