Kulob is a city in southern Tajikistan and one of the region's oldest continuously inhabited places. It has a domestic and limited international airport.
With roots going back more than two millennia, it became a center of the Kulob region and is associated with the medieval poet and mystic Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadani. It has long been an agricultural and trading hub.
