Jashore, also spelled Jessore, is a city in southwestern Bangladesh served by Jashore Airport, one of the country's oldest. It is a regional agricultural and trade centre.
The area was part of an ancient kingdom and became one of the earliest districts organised under British administration in Bengal. It is known for date-palm jaggery and flower cultivation.
