Huatulco is a planned resort area on Oaxaca's Pacific coast, with Bahías de Huatulco International Airport (HUX) and a marina and cruise berth at Santa Cruz. Its town center is La Crucecita.

The bays were a colonial-era anchorage raided by pirates such as Francis Drake. The modern resort was developed by Mexico's tourism agency from the 1980s with a low-density, eco-oriented plan.
