Main town of Carriacou
Hillsborough is the principal town of Carriacou in the Grenadines, served by Lauriston Airport (CRU) and a jetty with ferries to Grenada. It is the island's administrative and market center.
Carriacou retains strong African and Scottish-descended boatbuilding traditions, and Hillsborough grew as its trading port. The town's main street runs along the bay where sloops still launch.
