Agadir is a coastal resort city on Morocco's Atlantic coast, served by Agadir–Al Massira Airport and a working fishing and commercial port. Its long sandy bay and mild climate make it a popular seaside destination.
The city was largely destroyed by a major earthquake in 1960 and rebuilt in a modern layout further south. The hilltop kasbah ruins above the bay predate the disaster and remain a landmark.
